The UNICEF Kid Power Band empowers kids to get active, go on fun missions with famous champions and send lifesaving therapeutic food packets to kids in need.
Picture
If you look at the wrist of most middle school students and some of our teachers, you’ll see they are wearing a blue wrist band.  This is because they are a member of the UNICEF Kid Power Team. These students are taking an active part in helping UNICEF, and a number of proud sponsors, save the lives of starving children around the world.

The wristbands measure how active each student is.  The more kids move, the more Kid Power points they earn.  UNICEF states, “UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points. Points unlock funding from partners, parents and fans, and funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children around the world. The more kids move, the more points they earn, the more lives they save.”
Kids can participate in Global Missions to add additional points and adventure to the Kid Power activities.

To date, over 200,000 Kid Power members have unlocked over 6.4 million lifesaving therapeutic food packets saving the lives of more than 40,000 children!  The 506 Panda Power Team has earned more than 200 packets by scoring 2,011 activity points!  The total for all Funston Middle School students and staff is even more!  We’ll update the results for the Panda Power team from Room 506 every Friday.
